project team

The project team includes partners from the British Geological Survey, the Centre for Ecology and hydrology and Imperial College, London. The following are the project Principal Investigators:

Principal Investigator: Prof Howard Wheater FREng is Professor of Hydrology and Head of Environmental and Water Resource Engineering at Imperial College London. He has 35 years experience of flood hydrology in the UK and overseas and has published some 200 books and refereed research papers.

Co-Principal Investigator: Prof. Denis Peach is Chief Scientist of the British Geological Survey and an honorary Professor of Hydrogeology in the School of School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Birmingham. He is a past Vice President of the Geological Society of London, Chair of its Hydrogeological Group and Chair of the UK Groundwater Forum. He has 35 years of experience in groundwater science in UK and overseas and published over 100 reports and research papers.

Co-Principal Investigator: Dr Jon Finch is head of the Climate and Land Surface Group of the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. He has 32 years of experience as a hydrologist, in the UK and overseas, and has 90 publications.

Co-Principal Investigator: Dr Adrian Butler is Reader in Subsurface Hydrology at Imperial College London. He has over 20 years experience in hydrology and over 50 peer reviewed papers and reports.
